Mantena will continue to maintain the Øresund trains until December 2030 in cooperation with VR Sverige.
The Øresund train system consists of 111 X31 type trains, which, among other routes, operate between Malmö and Copenhagen at frequent intervals. The trains are maintained at a modern and efficient train workshop in Hässleholm.
– We are very pleased to be able to continue maintaining the Øresund trains for the next five years, says Arne Roland, CEO of Mantena. – This contract confirms our strong collaboration with Øresundståg and is a strategically important contract for Mantena as a Nordic competence center for the maintenance of railway vehicles.
Mantena has maintained the X31 trains since 2020, first in cooperation with SJ, and later under a direct contract for Øresundståg. The trains will now be maintained in partnership with VR, the Finnish train operator, which has won several train contracts in recent years.
– We truly look forward to our collaboration with VR over the next five years, says Marcus Jansson, Managing Director of Mantena Sverige AB. – We have become well acquainted through this tendering process and are impressed by their focus on development, innovative solutions, and holistic thinking.
