About Mantena

About us

We maintain and repair rail vehicles, machinery, and components for railway companies in the Nordics. Our employees go to work every day, around the clock, all year round to keep the trains in the Nordics on track.

Mantena is a Nordic industrial group within the railway sector

We maintain and repair rail vehicles, machinery, and components for a variety of railway companies throughout the Nordics.

As an independent full-service provider of maintenance, repair, and technical services, we can take on any task—from smaller routine jobs to large and complex assignments. We tailor optimal solutions for our customers, contributing to great travel experiences, cost-effective operations, and extending the lifecycle of rolling stock.

Our local presence provides competitiveness and more sustainable maintenance and ensures emergency preparedness for the railway. Our company is built upon a proud industrial history dating back to the era of steam locomotives. We carry our unique experiences and broad expertise as we shape the automated and digitalized train and maintenance services of the future. Our vision is to be the Nordic region’s most innovative full-service provider of railway vehicle maintenance services.

Mantena is wholly owned by the Norwegian state, through the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries. We have over 650 employees and operate at 12 workshops in Norway and Sweden. The group has an annual turnover of about 1.7 billion Norwegian kroner.

The railway is part of the solution, and Mantena’s main goal is to provide responsible and reliable maintenance of railway vehicles. This is how we help to move people and goods from road to rail.

We aim to do this in a sustainable way. We have a holistic view of sustainability.
